Captain //Mark Jones
From Wales in the United Kingdom, Mark has been a keen sailor since the age of 7. Having been a member of the Royal National Life Boat Institute for 3 years, he gained experience in boat handling and working under pressure. Mark has worked his way up in the yachting industry since 2007, crewing on large 252ft, 200ft and 180ft yachts, acquiring much private and charter experience. He has gathered vast yacht location berth and anchorage knowledge, including, but not limited to the Black Sea, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Adriatic Sea. Mark completed his MCA 3000gt Master license in 2016. He has been a part of the BROADWATER program since 2014 and this is his third vessel with the owner. He loves all things pertaining to the sea and will ensure that your time spent partaking in seafaring activities is thoroughly entertaining and safe. When Mark isn’t overseeing your flawless experience, you can find him at home in North Carolina with his wife and daughter.

First Officer // Luke Hodge
Originally form Brisbane, Australia, Luke studied marine biology and ecology before moving into the pet industry and specializing in fish, birds, reptiles and aquariums. However eventually his love of the water drew him to the sea and yachting. Luke started his seafaring adventures in 2008, and since then has cruised extensively around the Caribbean, East Coast USA, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Montenegro, Croatia, the Maldives and most memorably Thailand. His service has included time aboard Pegasus II, Fortunate Sun, Latitude, Titania, Lady May and Pegaso (now Naia). When not aboard he likes to venture to new places, anywhere lush green and wild and preferably where there is great diving and fish to be caught! Luke has a Chief Mate 3000 and is actively working towards his Masters ticket for 2017.

Bosun // Mark Patterson
Mark is from Adelaide, South Australia. He studied a Bachelor of Business specializing in Hotel and Resort Management at Le Cordon Bleu and The University of South Australia. After initially working in numerous five star hotels, he most recently spent 3 years selling Real Estate in the Beachside suburbs of Adelaide. Mark discovered the yachting industry while holidaying in Europe, which led to his first job as a deck hand aboard Broadwater. He has been with the program since and is incredibly proud to now be the Bosun on Broadwater.

Deckhand // Gareth Suckling
Gareth is originally from Durban, South Africa, though he grew up in Maryland from the age of 8 years old. He pursued general studies in college for two years and upon finishing school he transitioned into a role in his fathers carpentry business, though he had truly started learning the trade long before college and hence massed over 10 years of carpentry experience before following his love of the water onto his first job on a yacht with team Broadwater. To say that Gareth is excited to be here is an understatement. In his down time you will find him playing soccer, surfing and fishing.

Deckhand // Jeremy Finn
Jeremy was born and raised in Kelowna, British Colombia in Canada; his beautiful surroundings led him to grow up in an active and outdoors environment, wake boarding and water skiing on Lake Owanagan. Jeremys passion for sports led him to be two time national volley ball champion before heading to university and graduating with a degree in Marketing MGMT & Communications. Post study Jeremy trained and worked as a forest fire fighter before deciding to ride his motorcycle across Canada and down to Florida where he discovered yachting and M/Y Broadwater. Jeremy is excited to welcome you onboard and share adventures on the water.

Chef // Nathan Post
Nathan has worked with the Broadwater program on and off since January 2015 and has been in the yachting industry for over 5 years. He has been cooking professionally for over 12 years. We expect you will enjoy his relaxed and passionate approach to food as he aims to tempt you with mouth-watering combinations from around the globe. He is classically trained and he also specializes in clean-cut Indo-Pacific flavors, which may include trendy ‘street food’ versions from your favorite Asian takeaway to anything you might be intrigued by at Nobu. His cooking style is fresh and uncomplicated, enhanced with contemporary, modernist cuisine and techniques, as well as deliciously healthy options that every, new-world foodie will enjoy. When Nathan isn’t scrambling your eggs or assisting out on deck, he plays soccer and a bit of ‘ozzie rules’, enjoys surfing and being out in the sun – He can also quite often be heard singing (out loud), so don’t be too surprised if you do happen to hear him serenading your sashimi or humming to your hummus!

Chief Stewardess // Rebecca Kearl
Rebecca was born and raised in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder and spent four years after university living and working in Argentina. Rebecca interned at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires in the Press and Events Department, as well as carried out a number of Personal Assistant roles during her time with the State Department. She moved back to the US five years ago to pursue a career in private service and attended Butler School in Denver with the intention of going into estate management, however, she was intrigued by the yachting industry and decided to try her hand at private service by sea. This is her tenth season in the industry and Rebecca’s outgoing personality, passion for service and love of travel keeps her enthusiasm for her job in full bloom. Rebecca is committed to exceeding guests’ expectations while enjoying all of the unique experiences, opportunities and challenges that the yachting industry has to offer. Her hobbies include learning languages, exercising, yoga, skateboarding, basketball and real estate.

Second Stewardess // Leigh Anne Cawood
Leigh Anne is from Johannesburg, South Africa. She completed her degree at university in Hospitality where she gained a thorough general knowledge of customer service, housekeeping and laundry skills which prepared her well for her new venture in yachting. Broadwater is her first vessel and she is thrilled to be a part of our team. Prior to yachting, Leigh Anne was employed with a leading luxury tour operations company and during her time there her desire for travel increased immensely, hence securing her desire to set out for the US and secure a position on a motor yacht as a Stewardess. Leigh Anne loves to hike, exercise and has a great interest in photography and scrapbooking.

Stewardess // Nadine Amsler
The daughter of an Austrian hotelier and Swiss mechanic, Nadine was born and raised in New Zealand. Prior to joining Broadwater, she worked on a 28m Sunseeker based in Monaco and also a 50m Trinity, completing two Atlantic crossings and cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas. From a young age, Nadine was surrounded by hospitality and tourism, having grown up in a 5 star B&B in one of New Zealands most touristic towns, Paihia. It is therefore no wonder that she made the transition into the Yachting. Nadine has a passion for traveling, having finished her Marketing and Accounting degree in Barcelona, she continued to travel the world, with most recently a three week trip through Sri Lanka.

Stewardess // Chantal De Bruin
Originally from Durban in South Africa, Chantal started her life in corporate industry eventually working as an executive for Jaguar Land Rover, before finally succumbing to her love of the sea. Having been raised on the coast she has a natural wanderlust and after travelling all over the world for pleasure she finally settled into the yachting industry, joining M/Y Broadwater in January 2017. When not giving the best service possible Chantal loves to explore new places and anything that involves the outdoors

Chief Engineer // Scott Butler
Scott is from Durban, South Africa. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Caterpillar in South Africa and then began working on an oil rig before joining his first yacht at the age of 21. He started in the industry as a deckhand prior to transitioning into his true passion of engineering. His favorite part of his job is the challenges he is presented with and subsequently finding solutions for them. Scott recently purchased an equestrian farm in South Africa and he enjoys spending his time away there as well as free diving and spear fishing.

Second Engineer // Chris Nel
Growing up in New Zealand Chris has a love for the outdoors and the ocean. After leaving school Chris joined the navy for a brief time, which gave him a passion for boats. He spent much of his childhood in the water surfing and traveled the world as a surf instructor. He soon found himself in the French Alpes and in Canada snowboarding in the winter months of his travels before ending up in the yachting industry. He has completed 4 Atlantic crossings and cruised the Caribbean, East Coast USA, Bahamas and the Mediterranean. Chris is working towards obtaining his Y3 Engineering certification.
